ROSS FIRTELL is a business lawyer with over 25 years of legal experience. He has broad experience handling: business transactions and contracts; general corporate matters; dispute resolution and litigation; and trademark and other intellectual property matters.
Mr. Firtell has extensive experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts, both in private practice and as in-house corporate counsel. In addition to his years of representing clients in private practice, he was in-house counsel to a publicly traded, fortune company, and he also directed the North American contracts and vendor compliance functions of a large, multi-national organization, while serving as in-house counsel.
Mr. Firtell has substantial trademark experience. He has performed numerous trademark searches and rendered availability and infringement opinions. He has prepared, filed and prosecuted numerous state, federal and international trademark applications for registration of business and product names, logos and other marks. Mr. Firtell has handled Office Actions and is also experienced in other matters requiring representation before the U.S. Trademark Office and/or Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.
In addition, Mr. Firtell has significant experience litigating complex commercial and intellectual property matters, including unfair competition and infringement cases, in state and federal courts.
Mr. Firtell commenced his college education at Tulane University, where he was a member of Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society. He completed his undergraduate studies and received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting with Honors from the University of Florida in 1987. Mr. Firtell received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Florida College of Law in 1990. While in law school, Mr. Firtell was a certified legal intern at the State Attorney’s Office in Gainesville, Florida, where he gained valuable trial experience. Mr. Firtell is a member of the Florida Bar, and is admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
